Turn My Love Around by markschellhas

A Brief Bio

I started writing music from an early age, when I learnt my first instrument – the piano.

When I started High School, I joined a community radio station in Muizenburg (Cape Town, South Africa) and worked as a volunteer for four years, acquiring skills as a sound engineer (studio, recording and outdoor broadcasting) and eventually presenting and producing my own show.

After high school, I spent two years in Europe where I briefly toured as a member of a band.

Returning to South Africa in 2003, I formed a band, called “Verismo” (after the classical/opera period in history – late 1800’s).

Verismo gigged rigorously for four years, playing alongside nationally acclaimed artists at major festivals and many more clubs around South Africa. VERISMO recorded two EPs and their songs got a fair amount of campus radio play with two of their singles reaching number 1 on the SA MP3 charts (www.24.com). I also wrote music for the soundtrack to the Billabong Pro 2006 surf competition on cable TV and my music was included on a compilation CD by SL Magazine, a nationally distributed student magazine in South Africa.

In 2007 Verismo disbanded and I persued a solo music career performing my solo acoustic set in Cape Town and later digitally released an EP, “Digital Delites”.

In 2008, in-between starting iLoveMusic Entertainment, an entertainment company, & “Mark Schellhas Publishing” I started composing and performing with my newly formed live electronic music group, “Strayplay”.

I continued to perform in Cape Town along-side chart-topping artists and performed on the popular magazine TV show, “Hectic Nine 9”.

I now continue to produce and perform music.
